Initial Consultation

This is an initial consultation to discuss a supply chain planning problem and the approach to finding a solution.

I will reserve a full hour to providing value to you. This will include:

Understanding the problem and clarifying it with questions
Making recommendations on the approach to take
Assessing data or defining data requirements
Making suggestions on learning that will help you solve the problem yourself

It will NOT include:

Describing a service or ready-made solution
Presenting a proposal
Selling my services or promoting myself

If you are interested in getting my help, then I will happily answer these questions. Any time spent on these activities will be in addition to your hour and at no additional cost.

This service is offered at a discount from my usual hourly rate. It is applicable only for the first consultation.

FAQs

The primary value you can expect from this consultation is clarity of thinking. 90% of the solution to any problem is clarity around the problem. You may find that you are able to solve your problem quickly afterwards. Any materials or notes that we use will be available to you, plus a recording of the call, should you request it. It is possible that this consultation can give you an approach or high-level design to your solution.

This depends a lot on your problem. As we are likely to be talking about planning, then examples of any master data or transactional data that supports this planning process. For example, demand planning: sales orders, forecasts, item master. Capacity planning: demand data, routing/work standards. Complete datasets are less important than examples that are representative. Diagrams and charts showing existing reports and process flows are also helpful. If none available, then we can talk about it.
